COLONIC PREPARATION

Before & After

WHAT IS A COLON HYDROTHERAPY SESSION LIKE?

A session is a comfortable experience for most  people, however, if discomfort is experienced, the session can be  stopped at anytime. Techniques utilized allow a small amount of water to  flow into the colon, gently stimulating the colons natural peristaltic  action to release softened waste. The inflow of a small amount of water  and the release of waste may be repeated several times. The removal of  waste should encourage better colon function elimination.

During the session, most clothing can be kept on and you will be draped,  or a gown might be worn to ensure modesty. Your dignity is always  maintained.

Currently their are two distinct types of colon irrigation systems,  described as open or closed systems. The International Association of  Colon Hydrotherapy (I-ACT) supports the use of either type of equipment.  Our colonic devices are state of the art OPEN SYSTEM. This means a  pencil thin tube is used. Furthermore, privacy is an option. Should the  client choose to be alone during the session we are just a buzzer away  to attend to whatever questions or needs they may have. CLOSED SYSTEM  colonic devices use substantially larger tubes and require supervision  by a therapist at all time.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR A COLONIC?

Colonics should be administered on an empty stomach or 2 hours after a meal. We suggest drinking plenty of  water the day before (1/2-1 gallon). Hydration is also recommended prior to and after each session.

DIETARY SUGGESTIONS BEFORE & AFTER

We  suggest eating a light meal both before and after a colonic such as  soups, pasta, brown rice, quinoa, chicken, fish, cooked/steamed veggies  or stewed fruits.

WE SUGGEST NOT EATING THE FOLLOWING 12 HOURS BEFORE & AFTER TREATMENT:

 Red meats
raw vegetables
raw fruits
fried foods

Due to potential for discomfort and bloating.

 PROBIOTICS & ENZYMES

We  recommend a steady use of probiotics and digestive enzymes after each  session. Probiotics and  enzymes should be consumed in general to  maintain a healthy and balanced colon. Proper balance of intestinal  flora as well as digestive enzymes generate a harmonious and happy  colon.
